Commemorative Cover to mark SL-China relations

A Commemorative Cover was issued on Thursday, March 2 at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations and the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Rubber-Rice trade agreement between Sri Lanka and China.

The Commemorative Cover was presented to Ambassador of Sri Lanka in China, Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku by Secretary General of the China National Philatelic Corporation, Ma Xiaoling, who is also the designer of the cover. The Embassy staff were also present.

The Cover indicates two Emblems of Sri Lanka and China and consists of two stamps of both countries. On the back of the cover there is a brief description on bilateral relations between China and Sri Lanka.

Over 50,000 Covers were issued by the China National Philatelic Corporation. and each cover costs 2.2 RMB (Chinese Local Currency). This will be funded by the Chinese public.
