One scorching morning, just after I woke up, my mum burst into my room and exclaimed, “Wake up! Wake up! We are going to watch the car race, remember?
“Ha!” I gasped as a burst of memory punched my head.
I expeditiously got up from my bed and scurried upstairs to the bathroom to have a shower. After I had a shower I got dressed and had my breakfast.
When we were all ready, we got into the car and drove to the racing arena where we found our seats and purchased a foam hand.
After a while, they began the countdown; all the sleek looking and sporty cars started revving up their engines. Most of the cars were strewn with sponsors. 3…2…1…Go! All the cars shot off speedily on the racing course. A red Toyota was in the lead. After a while, an exquisite blue Chervolet caught up with it and was fighting for the lead. Then with a boost of energy the Chervolet flew to the lead as a Nissan drove beside the Toyota trying to overtake it. A Porsche hurriedly overtook a Mazda and a BMW to reach 4th place as the Toyota went off track but overtook the Chervolet.
The audience cheered vociferously. It was a beguiling race and we were also cheering using the foam hand and enjoying some popcorn which my dad had bought from the juice bar
“Come on!” I cheered.
Most of the cars were far behind the Toyota and it was reaching the finish. As it was nearing the finish, the cheering got louder. It crossed the finish line!
“Yes! Yes!” Everyone was cheering and punching the air.
“Wow!” that was a great race. Soon we exited and headed home.
