The Government hopes to start work on the renewable power plant with a capacity of 500 MW in the Northern Province jointly with India by the beginning of August. An agreement was reached to start construction work by August, at a discussion held with the President’s Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayake and the Heads of the Energy Division of the Indian Adani Company.
The Adani Group has informed Ratnayake that these power plants will be constructed to harness wind and solar energy with a capacity of 500 MW and they hope to complete the construction work within a very short period.
