The 118th Annual General Meeting of the Old Boys Union of St. Benedict’s College, will be held on June 24, 2023 at the College auditorium.
The OBU of St. Benedict’s College will appoint the new New Council of Management including new office- bearers, Vice Presidents, Vice Patrons and Council for 2023/2024.
The OBU over the years has initiated several projects to support and assist the College in many ways to develop the College including the infrastructure.
The incumbent Principal / Director of St. Benedict’s College, Rev. Bro. (Dr.) Pubudu Rajapaksha (FSC) who is also the President of the Old Boys’ Union is spearheading an immense service to the College to uplift the standard of education, sports and overall reputation of the College. Some of the key projects that have been undertaken by the Old Boys’ Union are: the Clock Tower Project with the support of loyal old Benedictines locally and globally. The project is headed by the chairman, old Ben Rohan de Silva.
The other sustainable project that was initiated by the OBU three years ago is the Namadimu, a welfare project to pay a monthly donation to the retired teachers of St. Benedict’s College in collaboration with the past teachers’ Guild of St. Benedict’s College.
