LPL player auction on June 11

Sri Lanka will out players up for auction on June 11 ahead of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) T20 cricket turnament whch is scheduled to start on July 30 and end on August 20.

The franchsie teams in the LPL will also have their allocation to buy players increased from US dollars 350,000 to US dollars 1,000,000 for each team.

Before the auction team owners can pick four players outside the bidding process.

Sri Lanka Cricket said it will provide Rs.50 million for the team that wins the LPL.


Test cricket champs to pocket USD 1.6m

The winners of the ICC World Test Championship cricket final scheduled to start on June 7 at the London Oval will receive USD 1.6 million while the losing finalist will be entitled to half that amount.

India and Australia will vie for the title.

All nine ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 participants will receive a share in the $3.8 million purse. South Africa have earned USD 450,000 by finishing third while England who ended up fourth on the table will be entitled to USD 350,000.

Sri Lanka who ended in the fifth slot will receive USD 200,000.

Sixth-placed New Zealand, seventh-placed Pakistan, eighth-placed West Indies and ninth-placed Bangladesh will be receive USD 100,000 each.
