Ven. Prof. Uthurawala Dhammarathana Thera has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP). The appointment was made at a general party meeting held yesterday morning, replacing former party Chairman Prof. G. L. Pieris, who did not attend the meeting despite having been previously informed by the Party Secretary.
The meeting was held at 10:00 a.m. yesterday under the patronage of Party Leader, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
