
The immediate past Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Management Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri has been appointed as the President of the Chartered Management Institute, UK (CMI) – Sri Lanka Branch. He succeeds. Indra Kaushal Rajapaksa, who completed two consecutive years of service as the President.
Dharmasiri, as the vice president of the CMI Sri Lanka Branch collectively contributed to raise the managerial competencies among the professionals in Sri Lanka. He has a rare combination of being a Chartered Manager, Chartered HR Professional and a Chartered Electrical Engineer. Being a past president of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), he became the first Sri Lankan to lead CIPM and CMI, two professional charter bodies present in Sri Lanka. He is an Adjunct Professor at Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma as well.
