We celebrated Independence Day on February 4. It is national festival.
And it’s a national holiday for Sri Lanka. We won freedom from British rule in 1948. Sri Lanka gained independence on this day.
Many people and leaders devoted themselves to get freedom for our country. We won our freedom without bloodshed; our late national heroes like D. S. Senanayake Sir D. B. Jayatilaka, Sir Ponnambalam Ramanathan made representations to the British government and won our freedom.
People celebrate it all over the country. It is an important day for us.
