At GFLOCK our commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything. In practice, this implies continuous work to improve all stages of our product’s life cycle, from sourcing ethically produced raw materials, design, manufacturing, transport, storage and marketing to the shop shelf; for you to use, reuse, repair, and recycle. From beginning to end, we are
committed to making high quality garments in a responsible manner. GFLOCK recognises that the production of clothing has an increasing impact on our natural environment. The Recycled Collection is the next step in our mission to minimise this burden on our environment by using fabrics that have been manufactured by using waste plastic or PET bottles. Ranil Wilaaddrage, the CEO and founder of GFLOCK Clothing and co-founder of Kelly Felder is very much the driving force behind the GFLOCK suitability goals. My “PET” Project as Ranil fondly coins it (he spent most of 2019 researching and developing this technology with dedicated fabric mills in China) where PET Bottles are collected, washed, chipped into flakes and heated to extrude polyester fibers which are then stretched to create the yarn. The yarn is then treated, dyed and woven into the durable fabric that you see in this collection today.
