A film to remember

22 September, 2019

I have watched many films. Many of them are in Hindi and English. They are very interesting. I also like to watch Sinhala films.

My favourite film is Paththini. I have watched it four times. It is a Sinhala film and is about the life story of Goddess Paththini. She was a very kind person and her name was Kannagi. She married Kovalen. They were very happy. After some years, Madhavee came along and Kovalen changed. He fell in love with Madhavee. Kannagi thought that Kovalen was only hers and she loved him a lot.

After seven years, Kovalen came again, they wen to another country. When they came, there was a big robbery. A person has stolen the queen's jewellery. Kannagi had the same type of jewellery the queen had. Kannagi gave Kovalen her jewellery to sell and bring the money, so when he was doing that the king's soldiers came and caught Kovalen and they killed him.

When Kannagi heard that she ran to the place where Kovalen was killed. Going before the king and queen, Kannagi showed them that her husband was not a thief.

Then she committed suicide and became the Goddess of Love. Her name was changed to Paththini.

At the end of the film, my eyes were filled with tears. It was a very sad film. But I liked watching it very much. That’s why it's an unforgettable film for me.
