Peradeniya is a place with charm year round
Giving so much to walk, see and do around
The trees are heavy with multi-coloured flowers
Whose fragrance stimulate feelings in many a lover
The flowering trees are always in full bloom
Blowing fragrance with wind soft and cool
There is so much to see on a bright sunny day
Sunrise among the hills keep you happy and gay
The beautifully laid out gardens, very tidy and neat
The cool breeze passing over, protects one from heat
The numerous buildings, as you enter the University premises
Unfold the services rendered in the presence of your eyes
The Arts theatre, the Senate building – which you cannot miss
Look as if they were meant for newcomers to witness
As you trek along the straight tarred road
On hill tops you will find men’s abodes
As you go along, you will see the winding kissing bend
Generating jokes, yarns and fables which will never end
Then the women’s Halls, Hilda and Peiris face each other
Places which remind one, of our great mothers
Magnificent Sanghamitta, standing on the hill
However old one is, forget her never will
Ramanathan, well above the rest, few yards away
Holds memories that will not easily fade away
The colonial masters, the Founders for their attitude
