Chapter 23 | Sunday Observer

Chapter 23

1 September, 2019

I rushed to the oblong hall
Amidst the floral décor
To greet the newly wedded
I caught your amazed gaze
Seated in a corner
Sipping a glass of wine
Years have turned your hair grey
Your jewelled eyes turned pale,
Suddenly I felt a screen
Falling before me
Unfolding the lasting memories;
I went back to the times
Walking along the avenue
Hand in hand with you.
I felt the beat inyour heart
To the rhythm of love
Amidst the fragrant flowers.
I felt your tender touch
When walking hand in hand.
But oh! I wish I hadn’t seen you,
it marred the lovely image
drawn in chapter 23
In my book of life.
