Kids' Athletics - 2017 was held at the Bogambara Stadium recently. The concept was initiated by the Ministry of Education and was sponsored by Nestle Lanka Limited. Children from schools from all parts of the island took part and showed their talents. Albion Tamil School, Nuwara Eliya carried away the Grade 3 and 4 championship trophies. Boys and girls of Ginigathena Primary School were the runners-up in Grades 3 and 4. The chief guest on the final day, MP for Kandy District Lucky Jayawardene gave away the awards. Special invitees were Special Advisor to the Education Ministry (Sports) Sunil Jayaweera, Advisor, Ministry of Education, Manjula Kariyawasam , Project Officer, Ministry of Education, Milroy Jayamanne, Vice President, Nestle Lanka Ltd. Bandula Egodage and Senior Managers, Nestle Lanka Ltd. Damitha Kulatunga and Sajeewa Wickramsinghe.
