Suspicious death in Sapugaskanda
A man was found dead while bleeding from his left ear yesterday morning at the Demitta Yogashram in Sapugaskanda. According to the incumbent priest of the Yogashram there were three people within the premises, while two had escaped when the Priest had walked towards them leaving the third individual behind. The deceased has not been identified yet, the Police said. Sapugaskanda Police are investigating.
Man killed by wasp attack
A 68-year-old man died after being attacked by wasps in the Dayagama area on Friday. According to the Police, the man had gone to gather wood when he was attacked. The victim identified as Wellasami Sinnu succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the Dayagama divisional hospital.
Student knocked down by bus
An 18-year-old student was knocked down by an SLTB bus in Batapola on Friday afternoon. The incident had occurred at the Atambapola junction in Batapola when the student had alighted from the same bus before being struck down. The victim, 18-year-old Hasini Shashiprabha, a resident of Pollawita, Batapola was declared dead on the spot, the Police said. Police have arrested the driver of the bus.
