Veteran editor Rex de Silva’s first death anniversary will be commemorated this week.
Rex, a widely respected editor and a creative genius, began his journalism career in 1962 and flourished as a committed 24/7 working journalist for about half a century. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the daily Sun and the Weekend newspapers published by the Independent Newspapers Ltd better known as the SUN/ DAVASA Group. Later, he went to Brunei where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Borneo Bulletin till he retired a few years ago.
To mark the first death anniversary, a thanksgiving holy mass will be held on Friday Nov. 18 at 9.30 am at the Sacred Heart Church in Rajagiriya.
Rex’s family cordially invites colleagues, relatives and friends to participate in this service of thanksgiving for the magnificent contribution he made to foster independent and investigative journalism.
